Islamised-STEAM
Islamised Learning
Islamised Learning adds a unique dimension to the I-STEAM framework by embedding Islamic principles and values into the curriculum. This approach ensures that Muslim students can learn within a context that respects and reflects their cultural and religious beliefs. By integrating teachings from the Qur’an and Hadith, this discipline aims to develop not just academic skills but also moral and nurturing well-rounded individuals who are mindful of their faith in all aspects of life.
Science
In I-STEAM, science forms the foundation by encouraging inquiry, experimentation, and the development of hypotheses. Through an Islamized STEAM science education is taught in a way that highlights the harmony between scientific discovery and teachings of Islam, encouraging students to see science as a means of understanding the wonders of Allah’s creation and developing a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
Technology
Technology in I-STEAM education involves using tools and digital resources to solve problems and enhance learning. For Muslim students, this also includes understanding the ethical use of technology in a digital world, fostering digital literacy, and using technological innovations in ways that are mindful of Islamic values and principles.
Engineering
Engineering teaches students how to apply scientific and mathematical principles to design and build solutions. An Islamised approach to engineering emphasizes the importance of sustainable practices, ethical considerations, and communal benefits, aligning engineering projects with the broader objectives of Shariah, such as protecting the environment and serving the community.
Arts
The arts bring a creative dimension to I-STEAM, encouraging students to think outside the box and approach problems with innovative solutions. Within an Islamised framework, arts education incorporates Islamic art and design principles, allowing students to explore creativity while staying true to their cultural heritage. It fosters an appreciation for the rich artistic traditions of the Muslim world and encourages expression that aligns with Islamic values.
Mathematics
Mathematics provides the logical framework and quantitative skills necessary for analyzing data and solving complex problems. In an Islamised I-STEAM curriculum, mathematics is also taught as a tool for understanding the divine order and precision within Allah’s creation, helping students appreciate the systematic nature of the universe through a lens of faith.
